Embracing Big Open Spaces

Growing up as the daughter of a West Texas veterinarian left me an indelible impression so I continue to draw on fond memories of the ranching environment, and of going out with my father to treat herds of cattle and horses.

I rekindle my father’s appreciation and love of nature when I begin working on a painting.

Full Sail
11 x 14 framed

By the early 90's I was in Ft Lauderdale, and the coastal nature there infused my heart in salt and water.

It was after 2003 that I started painting nautical charts for a national gallery, drawing inspiration from my surroundings.

Crystal River to Horseshoe Pt
21.5 X 16

Although I have worked with various mediums, my first love was watercolor.

The charts have been well received, and my work has been sold to people all around the world.

I like to use deep, calming colors to create serene, interesting pieces.
