RSA Member Application

We are accepting applications for working artists.

Rainbow Springs Art in Dunnellon (RSA) is a cooperative gallery, which is dependent upon all members contributing to the organization and maintenance of the business. Artists display their artwork in their designated space for sale to the public. There are opportunities to become involved in gallery and community events, teach art classes to the public, and promote the gallery through their own social media and website channels.

RSA provides a physical location, a social media page with an established following, a website, and monthly newsletters to promote the arts and art education.

As a Working Gallery Artist, there is a 30% RSA sales commission and a $35 monthly fee. In addition, you will be expected to work by tendering money and managing sales at least one day at month (or two Sundays due to shorter open hours).

Are there any other places where your work can be found in person or online (i.e. Etsy, Shopify, etc.)

Describe any galleries, organizations, co-ops, clubs, or associations you are currently a member of. List experience, awards, milestones, positions held in former groups.

Belonging to a Co-Op involves being able to work well with others for the common goal of sharing knowledge and bringing art and creative events to the public. Realistically, being a member of a co-op can bring great enrichment while not necessarily providing monetary gain.

Rainbow Springs Art will be your gallery.

ART REQUIREMENTS
● Maintain a minimum six-month commitment
● Have a minimum of fifteen pieces prepared and gallery ready for display and purchase
● Be the creator of all artwork displayed. Acceptable work may include: pottery, jewelry, paintings, carvings, fabric arts, basketry,
wood craft, metal craft, photography, ceramics, sculpture, digital art, etc. Works from
patterns or molds, such as baskets will be considered. Unacceptable works would be those from pre-formed kits, puzzles, ai, or copied forms of work.
● Prints, notecards, and other forms of reproductions by the artist are permitted, but at least half of the available work should include original pieces.
● Completely change out their art at least 3x a year, even when items have not sold to keep things fresh

PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS
● Comfortable sending and receiving emails, calls, and providing customer service
● Promote the gallery, and other artist works through your own channels, groups, and clubs
● Performing duties which may include cleaning, gardening, cooking, or socializing, as well as tendering money
● Attend membership meetings
● Vote on all matters when prompted

RETAIL REQUIREMENTS
● Volunteer for major gallery events (annual art festival, one day events) and contribute to the maintenance of the gallery
● Work at least one day (or 2 Sundays due to shorter opening hours)
● Complete a 3-day training (at least) to learn how to open and conduct sales at the gallery retail environment

After you submit the application, you must send a recent resume and photos of 5 pieces of work to rsacoop2016@gmail.com, so the Art Review Committee can determine if you are the right fit for the gallery, at this time.

Please keep in mind that if pictures are not submitted, the application is considered incomplete.
